About Us - Our Story

The humble roots of McBead Creations were first formed approximately 6 years ago by mother and daughter team Barbara and Miriam McConnell.

Barbara and Miriam started McBead Creations out as a hobby, making jewellery and custom beaded accessories for friends and family in their home.

Soon, people wanted to make their own jewellery and beaded accessories.

The newly formed business quickly grew too large to remain home-based, as more space was needed for the store's bead inventory and other stock.

In March 2003, Barbara and Miriam looked for a store to rent, and within one month they were blessed to move McBead Creations into their first business location, at 3D Craig Henry Plaza.

By September 2004, McBead Creations had outgrown its original store location, and Barbara and Miriam looked for another location for their store.

In September 2004, McBead Creations was selected as one of the select few Canadian distributors of the WigJig Project line, including artistic wire and the WigJig project line.

In October, 2004, McBead Creation moved into their current location. The grand opening of our newest location was on Friday, October 15, 2004.
